Rolling out after turns by cv313 (Echospace) & Federsen, the 2nd ‘Artist Series’ comp is back-loaded with a real gem by Andrew Hargreaves aka Beppu (misspelt “Bepu” on digi), indulging to the hilt his lesser-known passion for dub, proper, with the robust yet woozy skank on ‘Conversations’ in a hypnotic sort of JA-Berlin-MCR dialogue for Pol or Rhythm & Sound fiends. On a more standard dub house tip Forward Memory splashes the congas on a propulsive 4/4 square bass ballast; Thomas & James dip to a sexier sort of deep house swang on ‘Chosen Colour’; and Gradient serves the faithful dub techno-house step of ‘Vibes Realm’ swaddled in analog FX.
